Useless Fecker that I am

Well that wasn’t a great start to the world of Arsenal Bloging, is it? But that what happens when u have to go on holidays 2 Thailand. it’s a hard life I know, but I do it out of guilt. There’s no real point in going back over everything that has occurred over the last few week’s, except to say it should never be underestimated what a bit of confidence can do. A good run, extra goals from the middle of the park, clean sheets, can all become habit.

It been a particularly good week as a gooner. Spurs ha ha. Sevilla was in the end a comfortable kettle of fish, but not as flawless as the scoreline suggests. I’m a defender lover, there something about a last ditch tackle, or a leg being stuck out at an impossible angle to prod away that I love. Toure & Clichy are on my shirt’s, and I think Sagna is going to be on the one next season, that is if I don’t get drunk and order the 3rd away kit online some night.

Flaming Flame Flamini is changing people’s mind, isn’t he? Im absolutely delighted for him. A figure that has divided many people wit most rating him as just a more effective Song! Hardly ringing praise, but i always felt there’s a place for a guy who can give ever last ounce he has for the whole 90 minutes. That combined with the fact that he can pop up with the odd all important goal (e.g chelsea last year) – and he seems to relish big games, a poor player tries to hide. I have never seen The Flame going missing. But he is really impressing at the moment. While Cesc has being winning MOTM awards, Flamini is just as much deserving of them, and it should be remembered that it was he who provided the freeedom for Cesc to play that extra 10 feet ahead.

So onwards and upwards to Derby, im hoping Dudu starts , walcott shows wat he can do & Diaby plays in his correct position. none of this will probably happen, such is the Way of  The Wenger.

As Mike D say’s: Kick It!!!

August 12, 2007 at 8:13 am (Uncategorized)

First bit of good news yesterday – Top Four Tottenham- lost to Sunderland in the best way possible, 6 seconds after extra time was supposed to have finished! The simple, simple pleasurses of life. I punched the air & jumped around abit, girlfriend thought it was all a bit much but thats the way it is when Top Four Tottenham are (supposedly) breathing down your neck. Spit in ur eye Sky. And every other red-top & comatose pundit. Speaking of Sky – i forgot how truly, truly awful & deeply irrating the Sky Broadcasting Network is with there little Englander attidute. I mean “Englands number 1 is yet to make a mistake”. Wanker’s. And that Jamie Redknapp? Wish his name was Kneecap, cause i fuckin would.

So on to today and the and the talking is all over, lets see what we got. The first thing is to see was it all wishful thinking this pre-season?

1) Have we really gelled as a team? As all of our new captain(!!?) Gallas’s comments are stressing?

2) Our newly appointed captain, who likes to shout his mouth must realise that the back line must be stronger. This was the cause of so much frustration lat year. No club would find it easy to coop with the injuries to our front line. The front line cannot lose you a game, but the defence sure can. And we were soft last year. Very soft.

When you walk into the armory and are handing over a silly amount of money just because you managed make it over to a game at last, you see a wall of quotes, of which the last 1 roughly goes like “I knew very quickly that when i came to Arsenal i had inherited a back four with a university degreee in how to defend” or something like that. Gone are those days, only to be replaced by this Zonal System it looks like. A Bollox’s System is a more approtite name i feel, mark your man, do your job and if everybody did that we be in a lot better shape. During the preseason games it looked like we were suffering from the same problems, but i felt in the last game against Ajax which was a close to a real league game your ever gonna get in a pre-season tourament, we were better organised, we were tight. Not quite tight like a tiger & mistakes were still made. Fewer mistakes………………Fingercrossed.

 3) The excuse of being in a new stadium is now not acceptable. I found it really hard to accept it past the first 3/4 game’s last season. The aston villa one is the only one i can accept if im being trueful, i could understand the huge pressure the Arsenal must of felt on the opening day off last season after limping in on the last day to fourth place, coupled with the pressure to impress & blow away villa.

4) The middle of the park must chip in with, well i was gonna say; with more goals but hey any would do, it was truly a weak performance goal wise. Cesc i remember at the start of last was saying that he wanted to aim for 15 goals. 2 at the arse end of a campaign that was basically over in the beginning of march is not good enough. Fair enough the rest of his contribution of pretty good, but if the boy knows it himself then don’t attackme. Helb looks way more comfortable in the centre and if given a run coul shoot for 10 believe it when i see it.

Christ its on in 20 minutes, lets see if i can find these websites that show it.

Hello world!

This is probably just a trial run, but well see how it goes.

So as pre-season’s go, it has mostly on the positive side. Still things to work on, but you could feel a geniue progression & understanding was unfolding on the pitch. Sagna looked shaky at the start but i have more faith in him by a long shot then i had of Eboue at any stage last year.

 Clichy is the man.

Toure & Gallas still work to be done in a big way, but the game against Ajax was their best yet. Still had me worried tho.

Gilberto is gauranted, as cesc & v.Persie.

The rest? We saw some intering things. Helb looking way more at home behind v.P then on the right wing.  Dudu has been impressive.I think he was the most impressive bar clichy in the Ajax game even tho he only came on in the 65 minute. He could of had a penalty, but it looks like we have a honest player – he wouldn go down, fought off two men & while falling down managed to get a shot away. I like honest player’s but a light dusting (!!!?) of this so called gamemanship is nothing to be ashamed about. Rather, embrace it my dear boy!

Walcott? There are doubts fluttering at the back of my head. Not overly loud but they are there.  Rosciky looks like he could be very breakable & hes never going to get a long enough run to show us the obivious talents he has.

Its almost here. Where do you think we will be at the end of the season?
